ABOUT AWR

Brief background of AWR

Africa Women Rising (AWR) formerly Crown Women Rising-Ghana (CWR-Gh) is a training, networking, and empowerment organization that identifies, nurtures, supports and honours high achieving women in Ghana to promote business growth and community transformation.

This is achieved with the objective of developing strategic relationships through entrepreneurship, business-to-business (B2B) network outreach, training and empowerment, through better packaging and or identifying the right market for specific products.

The evolution was necessary because we realized that the issue of women being disadvantaged socially, economically and politically was not only peculiar to Ghana but to the whole of the African continent. We therefore had to adopt a name that will correspond with our vision.

AWR invests in the betterment of Women and this is encapsulated in our 3Es- Empathise, Energise, Elevate.

Brief Explanation of 3Es

EMPATHISE: In empathizing therefore, we understand and share in the challenges of other women in the West African sub region. We take our time to ask the right questions, elicit the right responses so we can provide tailor-made solutions.

ENERGIZE: In energizing women, we encourage and excite them with the ‘can do’ attitude. We reassure them that no vision is too big to be achieved and that even with baby steps, results can be achieved. Our various networking, mentoring and training programs propel them to be the best they can be in their respective businesses.

ELEVATE: In elevating women, we recognize and honour high achievers as a way of motivating the other women to also work hard and thereby letting the women understand that hard work pays off which ultimately will result in the change in lifestyle and livelihoods so as to make a difference in our societies.
